WHISTLER 2.0

3 days 3 mountains... All of the preperation and bodily sacrifice was worth it. All of the bumps on the head, twisted ankles, jammed shoulders, hand and foot blisters, cramped muscles, butt bruises... it was all worth it because my body was 95% prepared to take on Mt. Baker, Blackcomb, and finally Whistler in 3 straight days.

My first trip to Whistler was a humbling one. I went to the biggest mountain resort in the world and I thought I would learn snowboarding and I thought that it'd be easy. Boy was I wrong... I went up the mountain... and the mountain spit me back a-tumblin down. I vowed to avenge my aches and bruises and my battered ego. I would train under the strictest of regimens... I would start at the bottom taking out little bitch mountains like Snoqualmie and Stowe in vermont... I would survive beatings down unmarked 60 degree sloped trails to traverse to a closed powder bowl at Steven's Pass... I would pay homage to the spiritual mecca of snowboarding at Mt Baker and surrender to it in awe. All so I could come back to Whistler... reach back like a pimp and slap it like a ho!

All for this weekend... I came into it psychological prepared with a new blade(Nitro Shogun 163) in my quiver. I charged through the slush at Baker on friday... powered through crud on blackcomb saturday... and cruised through some respectable snow and slush on whistler on sunday.

We had a great time when we weren't snowboarding. This has to be the best ski trip ever. We had 3 adjacent suites at the westin right in front of the lifts. At the end of the weekend we even got to see the 7-11 Fire and Ice show, where a group of snowboarders were performing 720s and backflips over a 40ft gap jump through a burning ring of fire!!! WOW!!!
