This weekend

Roomies

Roommates Rhodo, Nido and To-Quyen are going up to Vancouver with Cody for his birthday. I wish I could make it... Happy Birthday Cody.

Tuan

Happy birthday Tuan. 31 is not that special... no kidnappings and blindfolds this year. Have a good time in NY. Maybe I'll move out there when I get tired of the west coast.

Mt. Rainier

Supposed to go hike at Mt Rainier again. Ended up golfing all day on Fri. Thats prolly a good thing because an earthquake shook Rainier right around the time we were supposed to be making our descent. Mt Rainier is one of the largest active volcanoes in the US. Dunno about you, but if I felt a volcano rumbling and shaking beneath my feet... i prolly would piss my snowboarding pants.

Wakeboarding

Went wakeboarding yesterday on Lake washington... damn! I forgot how much beating your body takes with a sport like that. But it was pretty damn fun!

Mt Rainier

Seven months after moving to the emerald city, I finally got the chance to go visit that bohemoth of a mountain towering over the seattle skyline. Seeing how Tuan is moving back to New York next week, it was a perfect time to go.

Damn that tree!!!

Its amazing how much snow is up there. "No Shit!", you say. I know you can see the snow just from looking at Rainier from Seattle, but once you get there its totally different. Rolling around in 15ft of snow in shorts and a t-shirt is nothing less than surreal.

notice the wet arse.

We were greeted to the sight of skiers and snowboarders riding down to Paradise from camp muir. OMFG! I had to pick my jaw up from the snow. This would be a great place to get into backcountry riding. The hike up to Camp Muir takes about 4 hours, and the ride down about 40 minutes. Not that easy, but the challenge and the bragging rights that come with it are worth it to me.

you can bet that on water being hella cold!

The rest of the park below the snow line was incredible. Lush, ultra saturated green moss swallowed up the trunks of the old growth forests. What a great way to get out of the summer heat! Lemme tell you... it sucks! How did I go from 112deg Texas heat to complaining about 82deg Seattle summers? NO AC, thats why!

THIS WEEKEND: going back with my board on my back!
